Soundtrack to "What the Hell?!?!"

Tue Aug 5, 2008, 3:13 PM
I've been working on a new project, and I've been leery of posting anything up on Deviantart concerning it for a long time. I've had artwork stolen before, and while that bothers me... there's something that pains me even MORE.

When someone steals my IDEAS!

I'm not saying it's anyone here on Deviantart. Back in the day I was developing a story about fish-people, with a clown-fish being the main character. Sound familiar? Yeah... I was developing the story when I was still in high school, and then when Finding Nemo came out... they used every single fish joke I had come up with. I was furious... but accepting of it. I should have beat them to the punch... so I started work on another story. A panda who learned martial arts...

You can see where this is going, right?

So pardon me for being just a little supersticious about posting up my ideas about original stories. Since I won't reveal the plot... I will reveal the music I've picked out for it. Honestly, if you're creative... and you listen to all of the songs in the right order, you could probably figure out the entire story...

Anywho, I present to you the soundtrack to "What the Hell?!?!"...

1. Sugarbomb - Hello
2. The Rasmus - In the Shadows
3. Twisted Sister - Burn in Hell
4. AC/DC - Damned
5. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
6. Within Temptation - Gatekeeper
7. Ozzy Osbourne - Dog, the Bounty Hunter
8. Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
9. Dio - Holy Diver
10. Rob Zombie - Demon Speeding
11. Ram Jam - Black Betty
12. Epica - Cry For the Moon
13. Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
14. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
15. Nighwish - Eva
16. AC/DC - Highway to Hell
17. Nightwish - End of All Hope
18. Nightwish - Kinslayer
19. That Darkness - One Way Ticket
20. Nightwish - Ocean Soul
21. Kamelot - March of Mephisto
22. Blue Man Group - Club Nowhere

I was really going for a classic rock feel for all the "hell stuff", and an opera rock feel for all the "heaven stuff". There are a few songs that aren't in the soundtrack, but inspired events in the story... such as "Don't Fear the Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult, "Magic Man" by Heart, and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band.

I wish I could tell you more...

Q and A!

Here it is, people! Hologram tells all (almost all) about his Super Mario Bros project.

Anyone and everyone, ask me questions! Do it!

So here it goes...

I've debated about this for a long time, but I think it's time I broke down...

This Mario story. 2 years I've been working on this? I usually get oh so far, and something bad happens. Then, I decide to rewrite the story 90 times. Then the people who are going to do my voiceovers move away, or something to that effect. As it stands now, I'm doing about 90% of the voices (yes, I'm good with voices, but I've only got so MANY).

So here it is. I will be holding... auditions, I guess? I need some voice actors. I'll still be doing a majority of them, unless someone else's voice-acting knocks me off my feet.

Here's who I need, and what I had in mind:

1. Mario: I don't want the fruity "It'sa mee, Mario" voice. No no no. I want something from Brooklyn... from the Bronx. New Yorkish. Gruff. Bob Hoskins did a good job in the Mario movie. As it stands now, I can do a POOR impersonation of him.

2. Luigi: Will be my normal voice. Luigi has a LOT of dialogue. No accent...

3. Wario: Super gruff, sounds like he smoked a thousand cigars in under a minute.

4. Waluigi: Remember the pink weasel from Roger Rabbit? That's what I have in mind for him. Sounds KINDA like a gangster (not a gangsta, gangstER).

5. Ness: An overly energetic, fast talking boy who is enthusiastic about aliens and the paranormal. Imagine Dib from Invader Zim... only a cute little boy who looks like he belongs in 1950.

6. Ness' Mother: A motherly voice...

7. Samus Aran: Female voice. I want something femanine, but forceful and very SURE of what she is saying. Not a deep voice, just powerful...

8. Stanley the Bugman: This one is up for debate. Honestly, he's kind of annoying...

9. Peach: A cute voice

10. Dante: A doctor. Very sure spoken and level headed. Possibly has a slight New York accent.

11. Tatanga: An alien voice. Originally, he was based on a snake so he hissed a lot, but I nixed that idea. He speaks a very harsh language. He is subtitled.

--------------------------------------

Later characters:

12. Toad: A mushroom person. High voice, but I don't want him to sound like a munchkin.

13. Toadsworth: An old mushroom person.

14. Bowser: Mostly grunts and growls... like the noises he makes in Super Mario RPG. If it's convincing enough, he can speak some english...

15. Koopa Kids: ALL up for interpretation.

-------------------------------------------

I'll have to upload some new pictures so everyone can get an idea what the characters look like. Please NOTE me about this. I'm gonna need all the help I can get. I'll answer any questions sent my way...

Almost back to normal...

I'd like to bring up an important, but underrated item relating to art...

A DESK!

Seriously, folks. I've been at the new place for a little under a month and a half, and had cable internet for about 3 weeks. I didn't have a desk. I had my computer set up in the corner, and I had to sit indian style to use it... or lay on my stomach... and both of those were uncomfortable. You can't use a wacom tablet well while laying on your stomach, and I had to hunch over to use the keyboard while I was sitting cross-legged.

So this journal goes out to my new desk that someone gave me for free. *loves on desk*

APPRECIATE THE DESK!!!!!111

What happened to me?

Mon Jul 31, 2006, 5:40 PM
So, my last post was about commissions... of which I got about 3 done, and had 3 left to go. My internet source had pooped out, basically. I was checking DA at a church youth building, which closed down. The friend who said I could check it over at his place, simply never called me back. I called him a couple times and never got ahold of him. THEN my cellphone died because I didn't have money to pay the bill. THEN my crazy roommate decides that after 2 months she's allergic to my cat, and resolves the problem by locking him in my bathroom (while I'm out of town) for a day and a half... with NO FOOD OR WATER. I got home and was furious. I start looking for a new place to live, and find one. Put down my deposit, and boom. 4 days later, she decides to kick me out. I had a week and a half left to go before I moved into my new place.

So, I wound up staying in a one bedroom studio, with 3 other guys, my HUGE cat, no air conditioning, shower that doesn't drain, kitchen sink that doesn't drain, literally soda cans covering every area of the carpet, NO air conditioning, and I slept in an office chair. FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. I swore I was going to die...

So now, I'm moved into my new place. I've got an awesome job at Babbages (I have been moved up to management btw), and I once again have my cable internet back. Somewhere in there, I managed to send off for a 300 GB hard drive for a hundred bucks. W00.

So, I'm back. I've slacked on my art, but I'm ready to jump back in. AND, I'm ready to finish those 3 commissions (if they're still interested).

So who missed me?
